Summary
As a member of a small team, specialising in mechanical and electrical engineering, you are likely to be involved in all aspects of individual projects, from feasibility, through design to the construction and commissioning of the building services systems for a variety of building types, including highly serviced buildings.
An excellent understanding and knowledge of the products available for the required mechanical services inline with the project and any budgetary constraints is essential.
Your role would include but not be restricted to the drafting of reports, carrying out engineering calculations, and the preparation of specifications, drawings and tender documents, possibly in conjunction with others, when you may be required to supervise work being carried out by other employees of the Company.
As and when required or directed, you will liaise with other members of professional teams and clients, including attending meetings.
Other duties could include:
• Assistance with fee proposal preparation
• Commissioning witnessing
• Expert witness & mediation
• Project Management
• Budge cost calculations utilising SPONS or similar
• Occasional travel away from home if required by the project
• Dilapidation and Due Diligence Surveys
Mechanical Services:
• Project proposals and scoping documents
• Specification writing with detailed descriptions of each element
• Design calculations of mechanical building services
• Site surveys and reporting including defect survey, progress reports, etc
• Design Team meetings and Client meetings
• HVAC, Heat recovery, UFH, system designs and controls
• Above ground drainage & foul water pump systems
• BCWS & DHW systems and controls
• Process mechanical design
• Compressed air calculation and system design
• Fuel oil & Gas calculation and system designs
• Heat loss calculations, thermal modelling, EPCs and low carbon
• Design of Renewables, CHP, solar-thermal, rainwater harvesting
• SAP & SBEM calculations
• CAD & Revit modelling capabilities an advantage
• DBS check required
