Summary
No two days are the same in our fast paced and varied role. We’re committed to providing a first-class recruitment and HR Admin service across the Council. If this is something that excites you, then we have the role for you.
Working in a team of 6, you will be a vital part in providing efficient, accurate and customer focused HR admin support for all employees across the Council.
Do you have the ability to think on your feet and react to short timescales?
Your day could include all aspects of recruitment administration, from creating job adverts, setting up interviews, drafting of employment contracts, input and updating of employee records on the integrated HR and payroll system, carrying out inductions for new employees, raising purchase requisitions, to name a few, with the potential of reactive enquiries that will require attention. Therefore, being able to react and prioritise is a key element of this role.
About you.
You will bring demonstrable experience in a similar role, be accurate and detail focused and highly organised in your work. Strong IT skills - proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and an aptitude for in-house systems, preferably with HR software experience including use of systems, with the ability to learn other systems quickly are essential.
Ability to confidently work with all levels of employees/management. Being a strong team player is also important, as we’re a great team to work in.
You will have access to a vehicle for business use as this role will require you to travel to all our sites across the forest from time to time and attend recruitment events.
Preference will be given if you already hold the Certificate in Personnel Practice and have experience of iTrent, however, candidates with relevant and transferable skills and experience who are quick learners and have a keen interest in Human Resources may also be considered.
We would be looking for Monday and Tuesday to be mandatory as part of the work pattern, however the remaining hours we can be flexible.
What’s in it for you:
23 - 24 days annual leave (plus an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service) pro-rata
On-site parking
Local Government Pension scheme
Employee Assistance Programme
Wide range of employee discounts at high street retailers, including supermarkets, stores, and restaurants
Cycle to Work scheme which could save you around 40 percent on cycles and accessories
About Us.
What we can offer in return is a great place to work and a great team to work with. We believe that all employees make a valuable contribution to the work of the Council and that is why we encourage a trusting and open culture where each employee is supported and respected equally, ideas are actively sought, and self-development promoted.
We offer hybrid working, with approximately half the week in our offices and half remotely, but you’ll need to be flexible as days can vary to meet business need.
