Working in a hybrid style, based at home and Dundee House, you will work full time 37 hours per week.

Requirements

You will have a Degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. business , marketing, tourism) or equivalent relevant experience.

Responsibilities

You will play an effective role within the City Promotion team by developing and supporting a range of economic development activity including the marketing and promotion of Dundee; inward investment promotion, place marketing and leading on the support to the leisure tourism and hospitality sector. You will lead on and develop marketing and communications strategies to support the various functions across the city promotion team including events, tourism and city centre management. You will develop the city place marketing activity and manage relevant campaigns to ensure that Dundee, its reputation and perception, is highly positive as a great place to invest, visit, work study and play and reaches our key audiences.

You will represent the council in supporting the city’s Tourism strategy and will contribute to this via the Dundee Tourism Partnership, the Tourism Leadership Group and its various sub groups. You will work with businesses in the wider tourism and hospitality sector to understand and support them to develop and grow the visitor economy locally.

The Individual

You will have experience of marketing and communications planning and delivery, social media/digital marketing, copywriting/content creation and place/destination marketing.

Excellent communication skills both oral and written, good IT and organisational skills and excellent interpersonal skills along with being a team player with the ability to work under pressure.

You will have the ability to work out with office hours occasionally when required and travel within UK for meetings/conferences if required.
