Summary
Oak Scaffolding are looking for a Scaffolding Inspector to join their growing team. Based in Brighton and working throughout sites across the South East, this is a full time role offering a competitive salary to the right candidate.
Job Responsibilities
* Responsible for ensuring all scaffolding on construction projects conforms to prevailing standards, procedures, and laws.
* Monitor the design and certification of all scaffolding structures on site, adhering to relevant specifications and standards.
* Inspect all scaffolds erected within project construction sites to ensure they are safe for use and compliant with relevant industrial standards and company permit work procedures.
* Assess the condition of scaffolding materials, rejecting damaged, defective, and substandard materials.
* Ensure contractors maintain records of scaffolding conditions and dispose of damaged or defective materials correctly.
* Provide advice on the suitability of specialised scaffolds supplied by contracting companies to meet the health and safety requirements of the company, particularly during plant upset conditions.
* Offer technical advice on scaffolding works and participate in tasks requiring higher-level skills.
* Ensure scaffold materials are properly marked, kept in good condition, and used safely.
* Calculate counterweights for heavy-duty suspended scaffolding.
* Ensure compliance with HSE rules and regulations
* Design and plan scaffolds, considering weight limitations, scaffold type, fall protection, tie-offs, supports, etc.
* Supervise scaffold erection.
* Conduct final inspections of scaffolds before initial use.
* Conduct daily inspections and document scaffold conditions for safe occupation.
* Inspect scaffolds after changes or alterations.
* Oversee and inspect mobile scaffolds.

* At least 3 years of experience as a scaffolding inspector.
