Summary
We have an excellent opportunity for a full time, permanent Qualified Greenkeeper to join our well established team.
Widnes Golf Club is a Private Members Club founded in 1924 and is located in a scenic parkland setting.
The applicant must have excellent work ethic, dedication, passion and be a team player with a keen eye for presentation, you will be working as part of a greenkeeping team, and this position offers excellent opportunities for progression and career development.
The position also requires the candidate to process the following attributes:
• NVQ level 2 Qualification in Sports Turf Maintenance or equivalent - essential
• Spraying Certificates PA1, PA2 and PA6 – desirable but not essential
• Chainsaw Certificates CS 32/33 would be an advantage but not essential
Job Description
• Cut tees, greens, surrounds, fairways, rough and semi-rough
• Set up the golf course, including changing holes, moving tee markers, indicating OOB, Drop Zones and hazards.
• Swish and brush greens
• Apply top dressing and fertiliser
• Prepare and maintain machinery where applicable
• Identify and control pests and diseases
• Renovate worn and damaged turf
• Monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace for self and others
• Driving a tractor with implements
• Preparing machinery for use
• Preparing machinery for storage
• To complete work in any section that the Company may require you to carry out other duties within your capabilities, as the workload requires.

A competitive salary of £26,000p.a. Working a 40-hour week, with paid overtime for weekend work and bank holiday duties on a rota basis.
