About the Role

Base Location: Glasgow / Perth

Salary: £47,600 - £71,600 pro rata + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: 6 Month Fixed Term Contract | Full Time | Flexible First options available

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join the newly created Finance Data and Reporting CoE team to support the delivery of initiatives in scope of Finance's System and Data strategic roadmap. Scope of the current phase includes the introduction of a new enterprise and performance management solution, and the foundation steps to develop a Reporting and Analytics environment. This will be underpinned by the implementation of the Data Roadmap and other initiatives to support the development of a data driven culture within SSE Finance.

Reporting to the Finance Data Manager, the post holder will be responsible for providing dedicated analysis and development support with activities such as metadata management, data quality and data governance.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Proficiency in using large data sets to extract meaningful insights, trends and patterns with the ability to carry out data profiling to understand the structure, content and quality of data.

- Experience in logical data modelling, defining the data elements in a financial context and maintaining a data catalogue using metadata management tools.

- Expertise with report and visualisation development using tools like Power BI, Power Apps, Oracle OBIEE and SQL for effective data manipulation and presentation.

- Ability to identify and address data quality issues conducting root cause analysis and data lineage mapping to identify effective solutions.

- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to interpret business data requirements to support strategic and operational decisions for data users.
