We are looking for a Head Chef!
Are you passionate about Caribbean cuisine? Do you have the culinary skills to bring the essence of the islands to life? If so, Tropical Cafe wants you!
Responsibilities
Lead the kitchen team to deliver high-quality, authentic Caribbean dishes.
Develop and execute an innovative menu that captures the essence of Caribbean cuisine.
Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Manage kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, and budgeting.
Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen adhering to health and safety regulations.
Essential Criteria
• Catering and Hospitality qualification at HNC / SCQF Level 7 or equivalent experience
• REHIS Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification and be able to demonstrate best practice.
• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef.
• Extensive knowledge of Caribbean cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Creative and innovative approach to menu development and presentation.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
