Summary

The School of Medicine and Dentistry has a growing Vision Sciences provision area. As the Vision Sciences provision develops and expands, there is a need for staff to assist in the leadership and delivery of the programmes.
The School wishes to appoint a full time Senior Lecturer in Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing to support the development of the Vision Sciences educational provision, quality assurance, and assessment of credit and non-credit bearing courses in this area. The post holder should have experience with working with and to the requirements and standards of professional accreditation bodies and have the ability to build productive relationships with colleagues of varying degrees of seniority across the University.
The successful candidate will have experience of teaching in Higher Education alongside experience of research and knowledge exchange. Registration with the General Optical Council as an optometrist is essential as well as a good honours degree and PhD or willingness to work towards in a related area of study.
