Summary


Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist (3PAs). The post will include General Adult Gastroenterology and ward cover for General Medical patients.

This post is available from 01 September 2024 for a period of 12 months.

You will be joining a team of 15 Luminal Gastroenterologists. Duties include managing patients with gastrointestinal conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings, contributing to the cover of a mixed ward of Gastroenterology and General Medical patients on a rotational basis and to the Endoscopy service as well as an out of hour on call rota for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Gastroenterology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

Leadership is a key requirement of doctors’ professional work and this innovative programme is designed to support Consultants to hone the leadership and management skills they need to succeed at CUH.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
