Summary


As an administrator for the Special care Dental Team we are looking to employ an administrator to support our expanding General Anaesthetic team

· You will work with the current general anaesthetic (GA) team to provide comprehensive support to the Dental Team, undertaking a wide range of administrative tasks, including having personal responsibility for delegated tasks,this will include arranging appointments with parents and carers.

· To be the point of contact for the GA team within the dental service in relation to communication with parents and/or care homes and support staff.

· You will work closely with the GA team to provide specific administrative support for general anaesthetic services provided by the dental team.

· You will plan and organise appointments. e.g. letters/calls/emails of explanation, or requesting further information or making adjustments which will need to be followed up and recorded.

· You will plan your own time in order to maintain efficiency of the system and meet all deadlines and targets.

· When required you will communicate with clinic and/or patients regarding their internal referral information and their upcoming appointments using tact and diplomacy skills. This may also require dealing with sensitive medical information and will include communication with special care patients, anxious patients, patients with cultural or language difficulties, carers, relatives, other health professionals such as GPs and dentists.

· You will need to manage difficult situations when dealing with distressed patients who are enquiring about availability of treatment, waiting times etc. and who may be in pain.

· You will need to communicate with clinical teams within the Dental service and with other healthcare professionals including General Medical and Dental Practices, care homes and hospital departments.

· You will receive and deal with queries from patients which will require judgement with prioritisation.
