Environment – Cranborne Chase National Landscape

Cranborne Chase National Landscape is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and experienced Community Engagement Officer. This post is currently a temporary position up until 31st March 2025 although efforts are underway to secure funding for the longer term.

The Chase & Chalke Landscape Partnership Scheme has been underway in this National Landscape since 2020 but unfortunately closes at the end of September 2024. Over 600 volunteers signed up to assist with various natural, historic and cultural projects and strong links made with a myriad of community/interest groups, schools and hard to reach and under-represented communities.

You will continue to strengthen the community links already formed whilst striving to connect and engage with additional communities of interest and place across the whole National Landscape. You will recruit, support, train and supervise volunteers engaged with agreed projects, particularly walking/access initiatives, Dark Night Skies and any other projects as agreed with the National Landscape Director. You will also be able to identify press / PR opportunities, content for the website and social media accounts to promote community engagement activities.

You will be experienced and confident in offering community based events and initiatives and leading those who volunteer to assist in safe working practices that offer great satisfaction, enjoyment and inspiration to those you work alongside.

If you are a team player who enjoys sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with all ages and abilities, then we’d love to hear from you.
