Summary
Safe disposal of laboratory waste to the outside compound, once autoclaved and bagged; in accordance with the Trusts waste management policy. Dispose of full discard jars/biobins in the different areas of the lab, and replace. To assist in the rotation and movement of laboratory waste. To wash up re-useable laboratory glassware and items of equipment as directed by the BMS section managers. To assist with the putting away of all deliveries and employing stock rotation to minimize stock losses. Checking delivery paperwork to ensure that all products have been received and informing the Stores manager and one of the Microbiology management team of any issues Provides basic clinical technical services to include the culturing of Vitek purity plates following testing and also the dispensing of small volume liquid media with subsequent testing and signing off of sterility. Other duties as directed by the BMS section managers.
