Summary
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and patient individuals to join our support team to provide dedicated support to a 23-year-old lady with autism and complex mental health needs. This role involves delivering personalized care that respects her unique requirements, preferences, and goals. The Individual’s interests include yoga, craft work, banter.
Various hours and shifts available.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality, person-centred care to the young lady with complex mental health needs, including learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and other conditions.
Provide individualized support, ensuring the young lady remains at the center of all care activities.
Implement and follow personalised care plans and support strategies.
Offer flexible and ongoing support, adapting to changes in behavior and triggers over time.
Maintain structured record-keeping, complete questionnaires, and review case records.
Promote independence and encourage individuals to engage in community activities.
Focusing on reducing challenging behaviors and improving the quality of life.
Implement psychological and environmental interventions.
Altering task demands to address avoidant behaviors.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of care provided.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure holistic care.
Support the individual in managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support techniques.
Consider all personal and environmental factors that may influence behaviors, including past and current care and educational settings.
Address specific existing or potential challenges with tailored support.
Support the young lady in daily activities, including food shopping, using her own car.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in complex care.
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
MAPPA Certification
Strong understanding of person-centred care and co-production principles.
Experience working with individuals with autism, trauma, and complex health needs.
Ability to follow and implement a sensory diet.
Previous experience with challenging behaviors.
Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to improving the quality of life for the individual you support.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, compassionate, and dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with complex needs.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including holidays.
Ability to adapt to changing needs and provide flexible support.
A valid driver's license is desirable.
