Summary


You will work with and support the Postgraduate Dean and Head ofSchool inleading the delivery of a wide range of functions within their specialty, aligned to the NHS England mandate, and will ensure that both national and local standards and guidelines are followed and met. 


You will also work closely with other KSS TPDs, the KSS Deanery team and other key departments such as Quality.


Responsibilities will include:

• To help oversee the Regional TrainingProgramme

• Specialty-specific matters and trainee/trainer concerns

• Recruitment to training posts and programmes

• Postgraduateprogrammemanagement, including assessments, progression, rotations, support and remediation, OOP management, trainee management careers support, less than full-time training, inter-deanery transfer, academictrainingand other related work-streams.


The ideal candidate will be an experienced NHS Consultant with a thorough understanding of the specialty training across the region and who will also have strong leadership and communication skills and be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Please note: The post is offered on a secondment basis and all candidates are reminded that if they are successful, theyare responsible forsecuring written agreement from their Trust/Practice for release from clinical work for the specified number of PAs/sessions.


The length of appointment will be for 3 years plus potential for a3 yearextension subject to agreement of both parties
