Summary
Woodfields Fruit Ltd is a family run business and we specialise in soft fruit production. We are located in Herefordshire.
We grow three different varieties of raspberries both in polytunnels and glasshouses over 17 Ha, we also grow 4 varieties of blueberries under 10 Ha of polytunnels. Both combined producing over 500 tonnes of fruit every season.
As the Assistant Irrigation Manager, you will report directly to the Irrigation Manager and your role will involve but not be limited to the following:
Timely and correct irrigation of raspberry and blueberry crops
Conducting regular water testing
Monitoring fertigation programs and their effectiveness
Irrigation equipment installation, maintenance and operation
Glasshouse maintenance and climate control
Key skills and knowledge we would like the right candidate to have:
Minimum 1-year previous experience on either fruit or arable farm irrigation required
Ability to work weekends and overtime during the growing season
Knowledge of irrigation systems can be advantageous (Dream2, AdCon or PRIVA)
Basic computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
Full clean driving license
Attention to detail
Organisation and planning skills
Communication skills (being able to communicate with colleagues, workers, sometimes non-English speakers)
Capability of independent work
Willingness to learn
Rate of pay dependent on experience
