Working at Forestry and Land Scotland is all about ‘People, Pride and Purpose.’ Join us and take pride in supporting the economy, protecting and enhancing the environment by managing Scotlands National forests and land.

This is a tactical management role leading an established team of foresters, supervisors and machine operators to plan, deliver and enable safe and effective timber harvesting operations in order to meet our sales plan commitments. The postholder will lead the function, facilitate interaction with other teams and coordinate timber supply contracts with customers.

The regional team operates from three main offices in Lochgilphead, Oban, and Fort William, supported by satellite offices, workshops, and yards. Annually, we bring over 660,000 cubic meters of timber to market and restock more than 1,200 hectares. We offer high-quality recreation facilities, manage key conservation sites and native woodlands, and contribute to woodland creation programs.

To be successful in this role you must have experience in the application of modern commercial forestry practice.
