A Vacancy at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior nurse to join our respiratory department as a Respiratory Nurse Specialist in Interstitial Lung Disease . This is a 22.5 hours fixed term/secondment position until 29 February 2024.
The role will be to initiate and shape a new pathway with the acute Trust and Tertiary centre.From diagnosis to treatment follow up plans and referrals acting as a point of centre for both professionals and patients.

• To effectively assess the care needs of patients and their families within the ILD service and support them on their care journey.
• To support and sustain a smooth care pathway for patients, from initial referral for assessment to treatment and follow up providing continuity, information and support
• To be responsible for developing the role to improve and enhance the provision of service.
• To set up and manage the ILD patient database ensuring that all patient data is captured.
• To act as a resource of up to date clinical knowledge and skill within the ILD speciality.
• To work as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team.
• To work with the Respiratory lead in shaping nursing strategy within the directorate.
• Multidisciplinary team liaison and referral
• Six-minute walking tests and oxygen assessments
• Telephone advice and support for patients and other professionals.
