Summary


The Primary Care Training Hub Learning Environment Lead will be a key member of the Primary Care School (PCS) for Thames Valley and Wessex (TVW) delivering Primary Care Training Hub services.

Primary Care Training Hubs are pivotal to the sustainable development upskilling and transformation of a highly competent multi-professional primary care workforce to deliver an extended range of specialist and quality clinical services to meet the needs of our patients.

The postholderwill deliver against the Training Hub priorities within Integrated Care Systems (ICS) across TVW and as agreed via the NHS England (NHSE) Workforce, Training and Education (WT&E) Directorate senior leadership team and Primary Care Deans, creating developing and retaining the right workforce to support the delivery of workforce elements of key strategies aimed at improving primary care services.

Working with Training Hubs, the postholder will act as the point of contact for specific activities and will be responsible for ensuring operational delivery of NHSE WT&E requirements and associated primary care workforce programmes and projects across health and care. The postholder will work closely with a range of local stakeholders to support developing the Training Hub agenda within their governance arrangements, enabling existing and new workstreams as required and activities specific to individual workforce roles.

This role will also work within a wider matrix to enable workstream leads to connect across TVW, the South East and nationally to reduce variation and duplication as well as learn from other areas as and where required, taking a lead role where appropriate.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

The role is key to shaping, co-designing and supporting the implementation of local strategies for the development of the primary care workforce, identifying and realising opportunities to achieve outcomes in line with national policy.

A good understanding of the community/primary care working environment and professional learning and development requirements is essential. Equally important is an innovative and adaptable approach to work and the ability to operate autonomously within a frequently changing work environment. The postholder will lead and set the service direction in conjunction with Training Hubs, senior Primary Care clinicians and other multi-system stakeholders.

The role will be expected to develop strong links with local systems through digital technology such as MS teams, and by attending meetings and events in person.
