Summary
1. To learn to Identify, diagnose and rectify faults, and carry out repairs and planned maintenance of mechanical services, plant and equipment including but not limited to steam raising plant, air conditioning/ventilation systems, heating systems, water and drainage systems, macerators, catering equipment, hydrotherapy pool, ward equipment. 2. To learn the processes of reactive and planned maintenance of a more complex nature in the buildings engineering services related to the core skill of the post holder. 3. Complete all mandatory training as required. 4. Learn existing and new installations, commission and test new work associated with the core skill. Assist team members where other skills are involved. 5. Learn to assist and communicate with clinical staff to arrange shutdowns and maintenance of equipment and plant. 6. To learn to work safely on heating/cooling and water services, ventilation in accordance with all statutory regulations and health and safety legislation, and training towards an appointed Competent Person for Trust properties. 7. To learn to carry out periodic checks, servicing and testing of plant and equipment, in accordance with planned maintenance programmes and schedules.
