Summary
You will need to work closely with colleagues in No.10, HM Treasury, Cabinet Office and wider government. You will be in a primary position to drive coordinated improvements in Project Delivery performance reporting, analysis and use of data across the public sector and in the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead the IPA’s Data and Insights Function and the reporting for the Government’s major project portfolio (GMPP). Overseeing the quarterly collection of data for circa 250 major projects from circa 15 Government Departments - involving hundreds of colleagues across the civil service - and the publication of the Annual Report on Major Projects.
- Lead the team of circa. 12 analysts and other project professionals to ensure the continued alignment of skills and work with key policy developments, and the collection of relevant & informative data that can shape future Government priorities (e.g. the net zero agenda).
- Provide insight on the performance of individual projects, portfolios and the system of project delivery. Identify opportunities for improvement across the spectrum of project delivery and all aspects of project performance; managing key C-level stakeholders across departments to promote and act on those opportunities.
- Lead the development of cross government data standards for project delivery and be a active member of the Project Data and AI community and programme board, to deliver the ambitions of the Data Analytics and AI in Government Project Delivery White Paper.
As well as:
- Working closely with No 10, Cabinet Office and HM Treasury (HMT) colleagues expand the GMPP reporting platform to align with Mission based reporting, including development of specific AI-tools.
- Represent the IPA across Cabinet Office and Civil Service analytical communities, supporting the analytical professions and ensuring the IPA remains connected with wider initiatives.
- Work closely with HMT on upcoming fiscal events to ensure the delivery of projects, including allocation of budgets, are informed by IPA assurance and deliverability assessments as well as cost, schedule and benefits performance data. Identifying and driving forward system level opportunities to collaboratively improve project delivery with No 10, HMT and Mission Boards.
- Drive engagement and role model the CO behaviours of Respect, Trust and Collaboration.
