Salary: £29,345 per annum
Contract: Full-time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Are you ready to make a difference? Join Mitie Care & Custody as an Operational Support Grade at the brand-new HMP Millsike and play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of the prison while delivering a supportive and rehabilitative environment for prisoners.
As an OSG, you will:
Manage entry and exit procedures, conduct patrols, search individuals and vehicles, and monitor CCTV to maintain prison security.Create a welcoming environment for visitors, providing information and support to maintain family ties.Assist in supervising prisoners, managing property exchanges, and ensuring free flow movement within the prison.Handle mail delivery, monitor the prisoners' phone system, and maintain accurate records.Operate the establishment's radio system and respond to emergencies as required.Perform various administrative tasks and other duties as needed to support the smooth operation of the prison.What you will need:
Basic-intermediate IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).Excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people.To enjoy meeting new people, empathetic, and can handle sensitive situations with professionalism and care.The vision at HMP Millsike:
