Fire alarms, including installation, maintenance and repairs
Fire extinguishers, including supply, installation and maintenance
Emergency light replacements and testing
Dry and wet riser testing and repairs
Fire hydrant testing
Bespoke fire safety training and fire risk assessments
About the role:
We are seeking an experienced fire alarm engineer to join our team at Total Fire Solutions, covering primarily Greater Manchester and the North West. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Service fire alarms to BS5839-1
Service and test emergency lighting systems to BS5266-1
Replace consumables where appropriate and make recommendations for remedial works when needed
Understand small works
Attend call outs when required
Assist with the testing and maintenance of wet and dry risers and fire hydrants
Adhere to the company's electric calendar and handheld device
Assist in running the service department, with the opportunity to progress and go on to manage
About you:
Our ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer, who strives to provide an outstanding service to our customers.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Experience in servicing fire alarms, ideally one year minimum
Good knowledge of current standards and legislation
Suitable qualifications, with the opportunity to undertake additional training
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a vast array of customers
Strong time management and organisational skills to manage jobs
Ability to spot additional areas of sales opportunity
Full UK driving license

Salary of £28,000-£35,000 is negotiable dependent on experience. We also offer a performance based bonus scheme, as well as additional (and optional) sales-based commission pay.
Our working week is Mon-Fri, but due to the nature of the role, weekend availability to be on call will be required. This is to be discussed and arranged with the other engineers, and will be paid accordingly.
