Summary

To provide key support to deliver implementation activity relating to the Welsh Government Strategies for an Ageing Society and Loneliness & Isolation.

Mapping services for older people, lonely and isolated people, and opportunities for intergenerational activity, supporting older people to age well and re-engage with their communities.

Research, evidence gathering and consultation with older people’s groups and various other stakeholders and community members in order to develop the Blaenau Gwent 50+ Forum, help tackle loneliness and isolation, and encourage intergenerational activity across the borough.

Using information and understanding gained from the activities above to deliver and monitor progress against the Age-Friendly Action Plan.

Working with Welsh Government and the Older People’s Commissioner for Wales’ Office to progress an application to the World Health Organization for Blaenau Gwent to join the Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities.

You will work with partner organisations and businesses associated to the Blaenau Gwent Local Well-being Partnership to implement strategic reports, policies and effective performance management arrangements.

You will be educated to Degree level or equivalent in a related discipline or subject. Essential experience includes proven experience of working in a relevant field and of utilising robust evidence, such as statistics, research and analysis to influence decision-making. You will also have experience of working across multi-agency partnerships, an ability to demonstrate influence skills in dealing with partnership business and the ability to draft, prepare and implement strategic reports, policies and procedures.

You must possess some knowledge of the key issues facing public services in Wales and the impact on policy development and review.
