Summary
Administer vaccines according to the national immunisation schedule. Maintain accurate and detailed records of immunisations given. Provide education and information to patients and families about immunisation, including potential side effects and the importance of vaccines. Monitor patients for adverse reactions following immunisation. Ensure vaccines are stored and handled according to guidelines, maintaining the cold chain. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, pharmacists, and social workers. Participate in public health initiatives and campaigns to promote immunisation. Adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean working environment. Qualifications and Experience: Registered Nurse with a valid license to practice. Experience in immunisation and vaccination is preferred. Knowledge of current immunisation schedules, vaccines, and contraindications to vaccination. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Working Conditions: The role may involve travel to different locations to provide immunisation clinics in schools, community centres, and other settings.
