We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Service User Engagement Centre Team Leader to join our Brighton & Hove service. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work flexibly and creatively to establish what is needed to have the most positive impact for all who are referred to our service.

To be great in this role you need a blend of strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of substance misuse issues and their related challenges.

Purpose of the Role:

If so, we invite you to join Change Grow Live (CGL) Brighton as the Service User Engagement Centre (SUEC) Team Leader.

The SUEC Team Leader will provide leadership, management, and support to the SUEC team, ensuring a seamless and efficient point of contact for all communications within the Brighton and Hove Recovery Service. This role is pivotal in offering telephone triage, advice, brief interventions, and onward signposting to universal services across Brighton and Hove. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other members of our multi-disciplinary team to optimise treatment and interventions for individuals accessing our service.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

Lead and support the local SUEC team to provide an excellent first point of contact for all communication into the Brighton and Hove substance misuse service.
Monitor incoming call volumes to ensure appropriate use of resources.
Follow SUEC standard operating procedures and ensure daily completion of routine activities.
Monitor and review SUEC output data to optimise resource use.
Maintain the staff rota a minimum of 6 weeks in advance.
Manage the re-engagement process for clients who have missed their assessments.

Collaboration and Coordination:

Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and improve referral pathways.
Proficient in using data to optimise resource allocation, taking a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Support the Family and Carers Team (FACT) in managing referral pathways and processes.
Support staff in identifying the support needs of their service users and managing the FACT caseload.

About You:
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated individual who brings the following skills and experience:

Knowledge and Experience:

Extensive knowledge of statutory and non-statutory health and social care services across the city.
Excellent understanding of motivational interviewing (MI) skills.
Good knowledge of data interpretation and using data outcomes to allocate resources effectively.
Strong understanding of drug and alcohol issues and the challenges/barriers to engaging with substance misuse treatment.
Extensive knowledge of harm reduction approaches, blood-borne virus (BBV) testing, and treatment options.
Ability to support the expansion of our referral pathways and increase the number of individuals in treatment.
Adept at coordinating and supporting a multidisciplinary team, ensuring efficient and compassionate service delivery, and maintaining meticulous records.
