Summary

Undertake a comprehensive nursing assessment recognizing and taking account of situations which may be detrimental to the health and well-being of the individual, Recognizing the significance of the observations made in relation to specialist condition. Devise a plan of care based on the nursing assessment with cooperation of the patient and others, taking account of medical prescriptions of care wherever appropriate. Implement the planned care and review the effectiveness of the care provided initiating any action that may be required. Have necessary knowledge to advise patients on the promotion of health and to demonstrate counselling skills. Be able to communicate with all members of the team, and with other medical, paramedical staff and social workers. Undertake the management of a group of patients/clients, supervising the delivery of appropriate care. Be able to identify priorities of patients/clients needs, plan and organize other colleagues' workloads, taking into account their competence and workload, if appropriate. 24 hour responsibility Shift co-ordination and night shift coordinator. Clinically and professionally competent To ensure all staff are up to date with mandatory training Safe and effective care delivery within the agreed budget, and effective resource management Ensure a safe and appropriate skill mix for the clinical area Effectively managing Bank and extra hours within the budget To strive to improve upon communication channels Arranging regular staff meetings Management of change Utilizing results from audits, i.e. Healthcare Commission, Health Inspectorate Wales, Royal College of Psychiatrists, NICE, MHA Commissioners Support evidence based practice Risk Assessment /SIMA Therapeutic Management of Violence andAggression/Debriefing Appropriate knowledge of the MHA 1983 (& 2007 amendments) and the MCA The post-holder leads a team of staff at Band 6 and below Leadership/Role model You will be able to find a full Job description and Person Specification attached within the supporting documents or please click Apply now to view in Trac.
