Summary

Job Overview
-The Base HQ Operations Controller is required to work as part of a dedicated team, assisting with the provision of Base Operations and Station Flight Planning services in support of flight Operations.

-The delivery of contracted Base Operations services is a 24/7 - 365 days a year service via a designated shift pattern.



Main Duties

-Responsible for controlling the Base HQ Operations, including the efficient delivery of the daily duties of the department related to operations, flights dispatch and airside services.

-Responsible for delivering excellent customer service and communication to the business ensuring all relevant departments are kept up to date with all the relevant operational changes whilst demonstrating and promoting our company values and advocate our safety culture.

-Monitoring of all relevant aspects of RAF, USAF, Civil and MOD charter aircraft operating to and from Wideawake Airfield, and disseminating Flight Watch information to arrival and departure destinations.

-Managing issues in a timely manner through liaison with crew, service providers, airport authorities and internal departments to effectively deal with potential barriers to effective operations.

-To be familiar with the Joint Response Plan, the AIB Order Book, the Spillage Plan and any other related documents, which involve emergency and routine callout procedures.

-Arrange Met Briefings for outbound crews, as and when required.

-Monitoring fire and Intruder alarms and alert the appropriate personnel in the event of any alarm activation. This includes alarms in areas off the airfield, which belong to other island agencies.

-Controlling the issue of Airhead section keys and carrying out daily key checks.

-Promoting the company professional image in all dealings with customers, client and outside agencies.

-To carry out any other tasks within their capabilities as directed by line management.

What we are looking for
-Excellent clear, concise communication skills are essential with excellent knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken.

-Interpersonal and all-round communication skills with the ability to problem solve under pressure whilst ensuring the operation is fully supported.

-Excellent planning and organisational skills, with proven ability to plan and organise often-fast moving ever changing operational needs on a daily basis.

-Have the ability to manage and solve a number of complex issues efficiently and calmly.

-Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.

-Full drivers licence.
