The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) recognises the importance of the Environment and Sustainability and is growing a team to deliver the aims and objectives of its Environmental Policy and Sustainability Strategy, with the aim to reach Net Zero by 2045. We are working to build an inclusive workforce internally and more widely across and within the construction industry.

This role is responsible for assisting with the implementation, monitoring, and measurement of progress against the Environmental Policy and Sustainability Strategy, including developing and oversight of action plans and managing the interconnections with other policies and strategies. This includes supporting the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager and providing administrative support where necessary.

What your work will involve:

1. Responsibility for the collection, management, and draft reporting of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance data, ensuring that it is robust and auditable for inclusion in mandatory reports, such as the annual GHG data gathering for footprint analysis for inclusion in the Annual Report and Accounts, Modern Slavery Statement and Public Sector Equality Duty reporting.

2. Analysing data to provide insight into current performance, progress against KPIs, and to identify best practice and potential opportunities to further progress our environmental and sustainability credentials.

3. Co-ordinate and support CITB’s workforce groups (e.g., Modern Slavery Champions & Green Champions) to discuss ideas and support project implementation.

4. Support and deliver ESG communications through researching and drafting press notices to share with the Communications Team and sharing information with colleagues through updating the Environment and Sustainability SharePoint (Intranet) pages.

5. Help develop and deliver ESG skills training through the development of e-learning modules, toolbox talks, and presentations at Induction workshops and at Team meetings.

6. Research and promote opportunities for CITB colleagues to help support their local or wider community through volunteering days.

7. Liaise and support teams to embed ESG principles into their day-to-day delivery.

8. Commit to undertaking the apprenticeship programme to become qualified in a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner (over a minimum of a 3-year period).
