Summary


This is an exciting opportunity for a band 5 OT who is looking to progress to a band 6 OT role, who would like to develop their clinical skills in CAMHS, and their leadership and managerial skills. The post will automatically progress to band 6 AFC and will be determined by completion of probation, practice educator training, and successful completion of one of our preceptorship programmes as markers for progression, which is expected at 12 months. If the selected candidate does not complete the above, or is not considered to be on track to successful completion, they will be supported to apply for other appropriate roles.



The post holder will work within the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Child and Adolescent mental Health (CAMHS) Tier 4 inpatient service. They will contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service in this specialist area. The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team and support the Lead Occupational Therapist in ensuring the provision of an excellence driven, evidence based Occupational Therapy service. They will be required to promote an understanding and awareness of the role of Occupational Therapy and actively engage in the process of continued professional development.

1. To manage a defined caseload using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in hospital settings and record all interventions.

2. To provide supervision and support to junior team members and students

3. To abide by the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Professional Standards for OT Practice.

4. To develop skills and knowledge through participation in a Professional Development Planning process to meet the competency framework.

5. To work within an inpatient CAMHS mental health setting

6. To understand and comply with all Trust policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.

7. To understand the Trusts Strategic Goals and how you can support them.

8. To understand the need to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and adhere to all principles in effective safeguarding.

9. To take responsibility for your own learning and development by recognising and taking advantage of all opportunities to learn in line with appraisal and supervision.

1.To deputise for Lead OT when at Band 6 level

In order tomeet the needs of the new Partnership services you may berequiredfrom time to time to work atdifferent locationsto your normal place of work. This may mean that youare required towork at any location that fall underBarnet,Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
