Summary

To have a basic understanding, when trained, which constitute a normal/abnormal ECG and ensure that abnormal ECGs are brought to the attention of the Senior Clinical staff. To identify an unwell patient even in the presence of a normal ECG and to follow the appropriate protocols to summon help. To participate in resuscitation procedures as required. To attend internal or external training courses as requested by the Senior Chief Cardiac Physiologist. To have an understanding of infection control and knowledge of procedures when dealing with commonly occurring conditions, eg : MRSA, HIV and TB. To train visiting staff/students and new members of the department to perform ECGs or other department procedures to standards set by the British Cardiac Society. To input information onto both the hospital and the departmental computerised information systems. To perform both ECG and more complex diagnostics at both QEH and in Community setting as part of team
