Summary
Hours:- 25 over a 5 day week between 8am and 6pm
Salary:- £26,250 pro rata
We are looking for a committed Additional support officer who is passionate about improving life chances for all, so that children and young people can achieve their full potential. As a support officer, you will work under the direction and supervision of a senior member of staff to assist by supporting children age 3-5 who have been identified as requiring additional support.
You will be required to
*support children individually, within the playrooms/garden and in the community in
identified areas of learning and personal development.
*contribute information to update planning and review process for individual
children.
*supervise child self-administration of medication. You will offer a high level of
personal care which will enable the pupil/child to function to their full potential e.g.
toileting, administrating medication in line with agreed training procedures and
encouraging self- help and independence.
*carry out support programmes designed by visiting specialists e.g. speech and
language programmes, education psychology, physiotherapy and/or occupational
therapy programmes.
*have good levels of interpersonal skills and abilities which will enable you to work
as a member of a team to ensure positive outcomes for all our learners.
*assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and
achievements of assigned children, making accurate and productive use of
assessment
*adapt practice to respond to the strengths and needs of children
*set high standards which inspire, motivate and challenge children
*promote good progress outcomes by children
*be able to adapt learning to meet learners with SEND
Requirements:-
HNC or SVQ level 3 (SCQF level 7) in Additional Support Needs or Social services (children and young people)
Applicants will be required to evidence 2 references, one from present/previous employer
