Summary
As the Diabetes Devices Service Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be accountable the standards and quality of care delivered within your designated speciality. You will need engagement with all Corporate and Divisional objectives, through strong visible leadership and rolemodelling you will ensure patients are treated with compassion, dignity and respect. You will support the Nurse Consultant /Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist for Diabetes and Endocrine,You will provide professional and clinical leadership within the Diabetes devices service and lead on specific Professional and Service projects asrequired. As a Registered Nurse you will be working at an advanced level undertaking tasks that have been previously undertaken by medical and/or technical staff. As a Practitioner you will practice autonomouslyand also within a defined multi-disciplinary team to provide advice and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on the Diabetes Device Service (insulin pumps and Continuous Glucosemonitoring), across both secondary and primary care and in accordance with local guidelines and policies.You will formulate clinical decisions and treatment plans within local guidelines /policy to manage acute and chronic illness and will respond to actual and potential health problems appropriately. You will undertakeadvanced practice procedures and tasks which will provide holistic nursing care and therapeutic nursing interventions. The post holder may be required to work on other wards/ departments within the Trust at short notice in the event of hospital pressures/major civilian disaster. ****Please see the attached document for a full Job Description and Person Specification****
