Summary
Additional key responsibilities of the role include: Key Working Relationships: SWL Clinical Leads, Directors and Managers across the SWL ICB footprint; SWL CMO, CNO; Associate Directors for SWL HCP Portfolios; ICS Primary Care leads; Place Primary Care Network Clinical Directors; General Practitioners, Health and Care Partnership team; National and Regional teams where relevant, Build relationships with appropriate health and care organisational representatives, Support with assurance to ICB, ICP and other ICS stakeholders, Support ICS-wide compliance to essential requirements, ICS-wide reporting and communication, including risks and finances, with internal and external stakeholders, Provide and receive highly complex, highly sensitive or highly contentious information where there are significant barriers to acceptance which need to be overcome Financial and Physical Resources: Responsible for providing guidance and management on clinical aspects of programme development and delivery, Responsible for making recommendations, providing advice and able to prepare strategic reports/briefings as required, Act in a way that is compliant with Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions in the discharge of budget management responsibilities, Constantly strive for value for money and greater efficiency in the use of these budgets and to ensure that they operate in recurrent financial balance year on year. Staff Management Work in a matrix management style and to foster close working relations with other Clinical Leads within the ICS, Work across the wider organisation to agree prioritisation of blocks of work and related resource allocation to ensure high priority work/dependencies are completed in a timely manner, Support the recruitment and development of the team, Transfer expertise and knowledge as appropriate, throughout the team and also externally to Directors and lead providers, Forge positive working relationships, in order to support an effective matrix approach to achieve NHS objectives, Manage, motivate and develop clinicians as appropriate to ensure that they are able to deliver the new responsibilities of the NHS in SWL. Policy and Service Development: Propose changes to own function and make recommendations sector wide, Support the delivery of strategies that underpin actionable and effective Clinical Leadership at Place, Manage the risk management process, relevant to the team, Develop and present reports summarising status on issues, appraising outcomes, and providing progress reports for senior staff or groups of staff as directed from time to time. Analytical & Judgmental Skills: Work with highly complex data, facts and situations requiring analysis, interpretations and comparisons on a range of options and making decisions on the most appropriate approach, Draw from experience and expertise in other academic fields and industries, ensuring that SWL benefit from relevant developments, Highlight, promote and report innovative approaches to education and training, particularly their impact on service, Able to understand and interpret annual planning guidance, impact of national policy and guidance on data and analytical asks, be able to clearly explain it to other teams and ensure SWL delivers against this guidance, Chair or attend as appropriate, meetings with varied internal and external key stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of the strategic objectives, Support the Place-based Director, CMO, CNO and Deputy Medical Officer in senior stakeholder engagement and aligning the function/strategy from strategic objectives and business needs.
