Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity to work with a brand-new Primary and Secondary Special Education school which will open its doors in early 2025, the schools are based in Derby. Pupils aged between 5-19, It is anticipated that the student cohort will have a primary diagnosis of ASC/ADHD.

The school are currently looking for a Headteacher to join us in January 2025 to support with the planning, creation, registration, opening and running of the new provision. The building will be completely redeveloped, and work is already underway to design the look and feel of the school to ensure it fulfils its potential of being an amazing learning environment.

Skills and Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status with further professional qualification in a relevant area. Candidates with Headteacher qualification (such as NPQH/SNLP) or a willingness to gain such a qualification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Headteacher within a specialist school environment - essential
- Up to date knowledge of current DfE guidance including Independent Schools Standards (ISS)
- Knowledge and understanding of SLD and ASD issues
- Up to date knowledge of local and national government initiatives and legislation
- Quality assurance experience (such as lesson observations and performance management)
- Strong and effective leadership qualities
- Superb communication and stakeholder management skills
