We are a small residential children's home providing a nurturing environment for up to 4 children aged between 8 and 15. Our mission is to offer a safe and supportive space where children can thrive and grow, receiving the care and attention they need to reach their full potential.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Support Worker to join our team. The role involves providing overnight supervision and support to the children in our care, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stay awake and alert throughout the entire night shift.
• Supervise and monitor the children during sleeping hours, ensuring their safety and security at all times.
• Respond promptly to any issues or emergencies that may arise during the night, following the appropriate procedures and protocols.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to children who may have difficulty sleeping or are feeling anxious during the night.
• Administer any necessary medication to children in accordance with our policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of events and incidents that occur during the night, reporting any concerns to the appropriate members of staff.
• Carry out regular checks of the premises to ensure they are secure and report any maintenance issues or hazards.
• Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of the children.

Requirements:

• Ability to stay awake and alert during night shifts.
• Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in a residential setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Flexibility to work nights, including weekends and holidays as needed.
