About the Role:
Liverpool City Council is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Adult Learning Tutor to join our Regeneration & Economy team. This grant-funded role involves delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment in various pathway areas. The successful candidate will work part-time, providing flexible and tailored learning programmes to diverse cohorts of learners within employability, enterprise, and fee-paying contexts.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Assessment: Deliver up to 24 hours of teaching per week across different curriculum pathway areas and locations.
Innovative Delivery: Utilize digital ICT and innovative teaching methods to provide contextualized and embedded learning experiences.
Learner Guidance: Offer initial advice, guidance, and assessments for learners, tailoring learning activities to meet individual needs.
Course Development: Participate in the development of training packages, learning materials, and resources.
Quality Assurance: Support the implementation of quality assurance standards, including observation of teaching, learning, and assessment (OTLA).
Flexible Learning: Design and deliver flexible learning programmes tailored to the needs of the learners.
Self-Assessment Review: Contribute to the area of learning self-assessment review (SAR).
Professional Development: Engage in professional development activities and training opportunities.
Assessment Procedures: Conduct assessment procedures to evidence learning and attend moderation meetings.
Marketing and Recruitment: Assist in the marketing of courses and recruitment of learners.
Health and Safety: Ensure adherence to Health and Safety legislation and undertake regular risk assessments.
Policy Implementation: Implement policies and practices for Quality Improvement and Assurance and Equality and Diversity.
Documentation Maintenance: Maintain course documentation in accordance with service standards and procedures.
Mentorship: Act as a mentor for a designated number of sessional tutors.
Progression Routes: Identify appropriate progression routes for learners to enhance employability and social outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

Relevant Adult Teaching qualification.
Relevant subject qualifications at Level 3 or higher.
Evidence of continuing professional development in the last eighteen months.
Experience in Post 16 learning.
Comprehensive understanding of teaching, learning, and assessment methods.
Recent and substantial experience teaching on pre-employment, job preparation, and work skills programmes.
Desirable:

Level 3 or equivalent in English or Maths.
Experience with Internal Verification and Quality Assurance/Improvement systems.
Experience working with long-term unemployed and key target learners.
Up-to-date knowledge of local skills needs and employment priorities.
Digital and IT technology skills.
