Summary

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the Supplier Relationship Manager will lead, own and develop our relationships with key strategic suppliers.
As part of the procurement leadership team, you will play a major part in professionalising the procurement support available to the RSPB and bring more of our procurement activities centrally. The successful candidate will take the lead and develop the supplier relationships we currently have and build new partnerships whilst acting as a representative of the internal stakeholders.
What's the role about?

Leading the Supplier Relationship Team and supplier management direction for RSPB.
Develop and manage strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply and high-quality performance.
Monitor supplier performance against agreed-upon metrics and service level agreements (SLAs).
Maintain accurate records of supplier performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
Conduct regular reviews with suppliers to discuss performance, address issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality, delivery, and cost performance.
Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and procurement guidelines.
Responsible for devising new or amending existing procurement guidance, specifically related to supplier management, but also cost, whilst maintaining control and reducing risk of poor or illegal practices

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

Experience in supplier management, or a similar procurement role.
Strong relationship building, communication, and interpersonal skills
Working within a specialist procurement team which delivers high standards of output.
Able to deal with confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences whether by phone, email or in person.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.

This is a permanent, full-time role for 37.5 hours per week, however part-time hours may be considered.
