Role Description
We need committed and enthusiastic individuals to collect data from major tournaments and
leagues for use across the sports industry. This a challenging role requiring a dedication to high
standards and is a unique opportunity to contribute to a new data set for professional football.
Initially on a short-term contract, the role will involve in-person sessions at our Leeds office but
successful candidates will have the option of working remotely, once they have passed training
and if they meet the computer setup requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate for this role will:
- Learn detailed instructions and definitions regarding football data collection
- Accurately and quickly collect extensive data points while watching a football match using
our bespoke software.
Role Requirements
- Successful candidates will be required to attend training sessions at our Leeds office (near
Elland Road Stadium) during late August/early September 2024, exact dates tbc.
- Able to commit a minimum of 15 hours per week across September and October 2024. Your
exact schedule and workload can be negotiated to suit individual circumstances.
Essential
- Have a demonstrable interest and an excellent knowledge of football, particularly teams
and players that participated at Euro 2024
- Great attention to detail and a meticulous approach to accuracy.
- Receptive to feedback - our core aim is to make our football data as precise as possible.
- Possess a proactive attitude and comfortable working independently
- Good computer skills, specifically keyboard and mouse dexterity.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Desirable
- Previous data entry experience, ideally relevant to football/sports within high pressure
environments.
- Previous experience video tagging, specifically locating and logging timestamps.
