Summary
Vacancy for a Charity Administrator
at
Home-Start South Leicestershire
24 to 30 hrs per week
Permanent
Salary: £30,147 to £32,456 per annum (pro rata)
An exciting opportunity has arisen in an extremely highly regarded local family support charity based in Market Harborough in South Leicestershire, for a Charity Administrator due to the retirement of our long-serving colleague. This is a central role to support the smooth running of the charity’s governance, data, and communications processes for a small staff team, a voluntary Board of Trustees and a large team of Family Support Volunteers.
The charity helps families with at least one child under 5 years who are facing disadvantages or difficulties which make the task of bringing up very young children more challenging. It has been operating across the Harborough District for 40 years this year and has a strong track record of helping over 5,700 children under 5 years during this time.
The post holder will work closely with the Charity Manager and the Finance Manager around governance, finance and data systems and will be the central point of contact for incoming and outgoing communications and use of the charity premises in Market Harborough. In addition, they will provide some administrative support for the activities of the rest of the small staff team.
This opportunity offers the benefits of working within a small, dynamic, flexible and highly skilled team focused on providing the best possible support to vulnerable and disadvantaged families across Harborough District.
We are looking for someone with a proven track-record of working in a higher-level administrative position, ideally with experience in a not-for-profit environment. Administrative skills developed in corporate, public, education or health services etc. would be welcome. We need someone who is reliable, punctual, and efficient in their working practices, able to manage multiple priorities under time pressures, and able to prioritise work across a broad range of organisational support areas, from premises oversight and charity database management, to external communications and charity governance.
The ideal candidate would value a collaborative and positive approach to problem solving and be able to respond empathically and sensitively to people contacting and using our charity. Occasional travel across Harborough District may be required.
In return we offer flexible working days/hours, with hybrid working arrangements (although this role is required to be predominantly on site) provision of all necessary IT equipment, and an 8% pension contribution. We are required to carry out a DBS Check (Enhanced Level) for this post due to the work involving direct contact with, or access to data about children and potentially vulnerable adults.
If you’d like an opportunity to be part of a warm and friendly small staff team, and to be centrally involved in the ongoing sustainability and development of an established local charity please access our application documents for further details.
