Summary

West Cheshire Museums are recruiting enthusiastic Museum and Visitor Assistants. The museum teams work across the Chester and Northwich hubs to ensure visitors are inspired and enthused by their discoveries. Visitor Services staff are the first point of contact for visitors and provide the welcome and customer care for visitors to Cheshire West Museums. You will enjoy communicating, listening, team-working and creative-problem solving to ensure an excellent visitor experience. The duties include: reception, café, museum tours, retail and event support. Other duties will include technical, interpretation and associated administration.
West Cheshire Museums is an exciting 4-museum service with unique collections and listed buildings which tell the stories of West Cheshire. The Lion Salt Works is a scheduled ancient monument which tells the stories and impact of the process of open-pan salt-making in Cheshire. Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse tells the stories of local industry and the workhouse. Stretton Watermill is a 14th Century watermill near Tilston operating on seasonal opening. Grosvenor Museum houses collections exploring the history of Chester, its art and silver heritage, and its natural history.

West Cheshire Museums is part of the wider CWaC Cultural Services Team and is delivering Curating Change: Museums Development Plan 2020-2025.

The post is casual (no fixed hours) to cover staff absence, special events, evening events and will include weekend and evening work.
