As the Cerner Operations Manager will be responsible for the administration of the Cerner Suite of Applications and the continual development of the Cerner support team.

Imperial are one of four Acute Trusts in North West London who are working together as an Acute Provider Collaborative to implement a shared suite of clinical and administrative applications. Cerner has already been implemented as the common EPR across the APC. This is exciting an opportunity for you to work with your colleague's at Chelsea & Westminster, London North West and Hillingdon, to deliver the North West London ICS Digital Strategy.

The support team is responsible for business as usual configuration of the system including the management of standing data across systems used in the Trust and the investigation, diagnosis and resolution of issues arising with the system

The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance of efficient support processes and procedures.

This role requires the competencies ‘normally’ associated with the experience of managing Cerner Millennium in a NHS Acute Trust. The post holder must demonstrate an appreciation and vision as to how clinical and operational practice can be transformed and supported by electronic patient records and clinical systems. The role will be Trust facing providing a point of focus for any queries or issues relating to the system. The post holder will work with key operational and clinical staff along with vendors to deliver a system that will improve process efficiency, enhance patient safety and experience and reduce costs.

You will have strong analytic skills with an appreciation of process and workflow. It is important to be able to understand issues from the user perspective and not just as technical problems. Structured, systematic thinking to work to solutions is essential. You must also be able to articulate issues to and communicate with non technical clinical and operational system users.

Although we do not expect you to be a Project Manager you must be able to lead a team and coordinate activities towards a defined objective.
