The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Asset Officer to join our Asset Management team to deliver a high quality service to Horizon’s tenants, owners and shared owners covering mainly the Edinburgh, Lothians, Fife and North/South Lanarkshire areas but also providing cover across the central and west areas that we operate in.
The Asset Officer will work under the direction and guidance of the Senior Asset Officer and the Asset Manager in the delivery of our reactive, cyclical and planned maintenance service. The successful candidate will also be responsible for void management, stock condition surveys, energy performance surveys etc.
You will ensure the successful delivery of all asset management activities, working with a large group of internal and external contacts, driving Horizon’s objectives and organisational goals.
The successful candidate will be team orientated and driven. You will have the ability to provide day to day management to the In-house trades team and, Estate Officers. You will be able to give health and safety advice and provide motivation to staff where required.
About You
This role requires a qualification in construction-related discipline or a related housing or property management qualification. Legal requirements and statutory obligations applicable to housing assets is a focal aspect of the role.
Experience of contract administration and delivery of construction and minor works projects is essential, alongside an ability to think strategically and work with stakeholders to develop innovative approaches to delivering investment to private and mixed tenure tenements.
You will have the commitment and drive to assist the delivery of effective and efficient asset management and will enjoy working collaboratively to deliver positive outcomes for our tenants whilst using exemplary communication skills. The successful candidate will also have excellent IT skills, in particular, the application of excel.
Please note that a full drivers license is required for this role.
