VACANCY FOR PARISH CLERK/RESPONSIBLE FINANCE OFFICER

Brandon Town Council are looking to appoint an enthusiastic person for our vacant role of Town Clerk/RFO. Staff and Councillors are proud of our achievements, past and present and we are keen to maintain and develop our services and to meet the aspirations of our Brandon Community. The CILCA qualification is desirable, however we will consider applicants who can commit to achieving the qualification, within a specified time period. Your employment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period, during which time you will be required to demonstrate your suitability for the position.
We have administration staff in place who will support you and carry out much of the day-to-day activity.
Duties include: -
• Being responsible for ensuring the Council is acting within current regulations
• Publishing meeting agendas and background information
• Regular attendance at two monthly meetings, one being in the evening and other committee meetings, as necessary and take minutes
• Managing staff
• Guiding Councillors in legislation
• Being computer literate is essential
• You will be responsible for the careful administration of the Council’s day to day finances, (using Rialtas, Omega), providing information to Councillors when setting the Council’s budget, preparing year-end accounts for audit, and reclaiming VAT
