Summary

The IS Analyst for Networks works within in the IS Workplace Systems team of Booker, and is responsible for delivering effective, secure and efficient Network systems to help improve customer satisfaction and cash profit.

The role is primarily responsible for helping to deliver and support a secure and stable corporate network to Distribution Centres, Branches and Offices in various locations throughout the UK.

Due to the nature of the role, and systems supported, it may on occasion be vital to work outside of normal business hours. In addition to this the successful candidate will be part of an out of hours critical issue process, and be expected to support the business as required should any incidents arise.

Key responsibilities:

Health, Safe and Legal (Governance, Security and Controls):

  • Align with organisational change procedures and system security.
  • Follow all company policies, e.g. financial planning and control, health and safety.
  • Devise and follow agreed procedures to resolve technical and procedural problems and call out as required.
  • Help to ensure disaster recovery is regularly confirmed and other risks are regularly reviewed and handled.
  • Align with IT supplier contracts and licensing agreements to ensure we remain aligned with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion to ensure everyone feels welcome at Booker.

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Work to identify issues that will or are impacting systems stability, availability and functionality, and then work promptly, jointly & proactively to mitigate and resolve such issues.
  • Prioritise and promptly resolve technical and procedural issues.
  • Specify network enhancements to systems, log network system deficiencies and then work towards testing and applying the associated changes.
  • Work to reliably and efficiently produce timely and accurate management information as required.
  • Deliver training and guidance to end users as required.
  • Work with colleagues, customers and suppliers to handle service perception and the understanding of IS services.
  • Work proactively with team members to improve processes and maximise system asset utilization.
  • Work to deliver system improvements and projects to support the company\\'s growth plans.
  • Work promptly, jointly & proactively on projects to improve cash profit & customer satisfaction.
  • Chip in collaboratively to deliver approved projects in full to agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Document current network topology and maintain documentation going forward.
  • Support Desktop and Applications teams with network patching and connectivity requirements.

Cash Profit:

  • Assist in providing fit-for-purpose systems at the minimum cost.
  • Work with suppliers and other partners to achieve effective solutions.
  • Handle suppliers to achieve value for money on products and services.
