Summary
Cancer Careat University Hospital Southampton is looking for a housekeeper to join the team.
We have three areas who are looking for a housekeeper. C2, which is a 27 bedded haematology area, Macmillan Acute Oncology Service (MAOS) which is 12 bed and 6 chair assessment unit and D12 which is a 24 bedded medical oncology unit.

We are looking for someone who is dedicated, hardworking housekeeper who will take pride in their ward and role. Someone who can work on a large ward who is focused in supporting clinical staff to assist in a smooth and effective service for patients. Ensuring the ward and area is always clean and tidy, carry out audits daily and escalate issues when they arise to the Nurse in charge.
We have three positions available in Cancer care. C2 Haematology which is a 27 bedded area, which is 34.5hrs/week. D12 is a 24 bedded area, which is 37.5hrs/week. Macmillan Acute Oncology Services (MAOS) for 31hrs/week.
Whatyou’lldo
The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the housekeeping team. You willbe responsible formaintainingthe cleanliness and safety of the ward; ensuring that our patientsare always comfortable in the hospital environment.
The role will involve ensuring the ward istidy, cleaningof general and specialist medical equipment such as defibrillators, moving and handling equipment such as hoists and our nurseworkstations. You will alsobe requiredto tidy the patient bed areas, clean beds when patients leave and general environmental cleaning. We also expect you to support the nursing staff to oversee food and drink service. You will be the designated Fire Warden for the area.Experience in a hospitalsettingis not essential as full training is provided.
Our housekeeping team provide cover across seven days per week between the hours of 07:00-19:00. You will be expected to workshifts during this time.

We need you to be able to chat to our patients, to take direction from our nursing staff and to work on your own initiative. Youwillneed to be able to adapt in any situation and have a good attention to detail.
Our housekeeping team is key to our patients and theirexperience,and we want you to help us achieve this.
