We are recruiting a Team Leader and Senior Psychotherapist / Senior CBT therapist to join Talking Therapies Southwark (TTS).
We have been a NHS Talking Therapies service since 2008 and currently have over 100 WTE staff. We provide a full range of NICE recommended step 2 and 3 interventions for depression and anxiety including CBT, IPT, CfD, DIT, BCT and EMDR. The postholder will join the TTS to deliver high quality therapy to clients with depression and / or anxiety, and also take on a management role in the senior team.
The post holder is required to have a highly developed knowledge of the ethos of NHS Talking Therapies service, considerable experience in working as a therapist in such service, and a sound understanding of national demands and NHS Talking Therapies targets. Successful applicants can expect to join a highly valued and motivated TTS workforce which consists of cognitive behavioural therapists, clinical / counselling psychologists, counsellors, PWPs, career coaches and our admin team. The post holder will take on one of the lead roles, e.g. triage lead in the service.
The purpose of this post is to contribute to the provision of high quality assessment and psychological therapy for patients experiencing depression and/or anxiety disorders referred to the NHS Talking Therapies Southwark, as a therapist, supervisor and team leader. Team leaders are experienced senior psychotherapists who work closely with the senior team leaders and Head of Service, play a key role in supporting, inspiring and guiding the clinical work of their teams, with a focus on continuing service improvement. They will usually also take a lead role for one of the therapy modalities or a specific patient population or some other aspect of service delivery, depending on service needs, the team leader’s experience and expertise.
Talking Therapies Southwark has been commissioned to provide the adult NHS Talking Therapies for Southwark since 2008, and currently we have over 100 WTE staff. There are two locality-based teams, each responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients referred by, or registered with, the GP practices in their part of the borough. The south team is currently based at the Maudsley Hospital in Camberwell and the north team at the Munro Centre near London Bridge. Within each team, CBT therapists, psychologists, counsellors, psychological wellbeing practitioners and career coaches work closely together, offering assessment, psycho-educational workshops and groups, as well as individual treatment sessions covering all the IAPT-recommended therapy modalities. The South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is the lead provider for the Talking Therapies Southwark partnership.
Our Trust headquarters is located at the Maudsley Hospital in Denmark Hill, London. It is less than 5-minutes walk from the train station (zone 2) and is within walking distance from the beautiful green spaces of Ruskin park and the vibrant high-street that offers great shopping opportunities and with a wide range restaurant.
Assist in the ongoing development of a high quality, responsive an accessible service including advising clinicians and managers on aspects of psychological therapy when these interface with national and local organisational Trust issues
Assist in the management of the team, for example, personal development reviews and appraisals, allocation and monitoring of caseload and activity, performance management, etc.
Contribute to the development of a culture within the team that values the use of outcome measures and service user involvement as ways of improving clinical practice
