Summary

Role Overview:

My client is a World Leading Construction Company.

They are presently delivering a circa £500m Major Civil Engineering Project in Gloucestershire and are seeking to employ, on a permanent or long-term contract basis a Land Surveyor / Engineering Surveyor / Survey Engineer to support the existing Engineering Manager and his existing team of Engineers.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a technically challenging and interesting project with an estimated lifespan of 4 years.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produce and review Survey RAMS
  • Mentor to young engineering staff and placement students
  • Deliver topographical Surveys
  • Establish Survey Control network and conduct accurate drone flights
  • Liaise with Environmental teams
  • Maintain Survey Equipment
  • Value engineering of Designs.
  • Volumetric Surveys and progress surveys
  • Site clearance records, use of GIS
  • Machine Control
  • Manage the production of quantities from drawings for tenders, bills of quantities checks / re-measures and progress surveys, Volumetric analysis
  • The development of the land surveying team to deliver Setting-out and Surveying services to other companies
  • Attend management and client meetings, to represent the surveying department and the company.
  • Identifying practical solutions to resolve surveying and setting out
  • Use of AutoCAD, Trimble Business Centre (Heavy Civils), LSS, Terramodel and office software. *All preferred but by no means essential.
  • Use of Trimble, Leica and Topcon Total Stations, GPS, Digital Levels
  • Assisting with development of site procedures to ensure quality control of setting out. Make sure all works are planned & safely delivered, in accordance with H&S Roles & Responsibility.
