Summary


The Guernsey Dialysis Matron role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong management skills and a background in renal care. The position involves working closely with both the on island Renal Physician and the Specialist Renal team at Guys and St Thomas' NHS foundation Trust. (GSTT)

The job is based on the Island on Guernsey with support from visiting Renal clinicians and the GSTT Renal Head of Nursing.

The satellite unit operates six days a week with two dialysis sessions each day. The role includes managing Renal Nursing led clinics (Advanced Kidney Care Clinic, Anaemia, Transplant co-ordination, Post transplant, Supportive care), ensuring that the workforce is well staffed and skilled to meet patient needs according to the contract and Standard Operating Procedures.

The hybrid management and clinical role offers unique support from the GSTT team, including regular one on one meetings with the Head of Nursing via MS Teams and biannual face to face visits. Additionally, visiting clinicians from Guys Hospital attend monthly, providing regular opportunities for in person collaboration.

The successful candidate will need to be an excellent communicator, confident in taking on responsibility and working autonomously. They will act as a crucial link between the two trusts, ensuring procedures and policies and effectively implemented and that governance is properly managed.
