Summary
A leading name in food production is looking to appoint a Specifications Technologist, at their site in West Midlands.
Under the direction of the Head of Technical, your role will be to provide technical support to the Company and liaising with both suppliers / customers on technical requirements.
Job specification:
Ensure the Company food safety and quality objectives are met at all times.
Compile Customer Product Specifications, review and update them in a timely manner.
Provide technical support to the company and all customers.
Compile and maintain Raw Material Specifications, get approval form Supplier and Head of Technical. Co-ordinate with supplier to get COA/COC of raw material received. Ensure raw material specifications are updated from time to time.
Keep abreast of legislation to ensure company compliance and communicate any changes internally.
Ensure new products are analysed according to customer requirements for Nutrition and Shelf life.
Ensure that micro samples are recorded and sent to the lab in co-ordination with QC’s is done as per the schedule
Manage objectives set by the Head of Technical and ensure completion within the timescales provided.
Knowledge and Experience
Educated to degree level in a Food related discipline or equivalent industry experience.
Min 3 year experience working for min 12 months in a specifications role.
Effectively manage own time and workload.
Have a good understanding of HACCP.
Experience of retailer specification portals and policies, (including those of ASDA, ALDI, Sainsburys, Hamiton-Grant, QADEX)
