Summary
As our Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Junior Nursery Manager, working alongside to ensure the smooth and effective operation of our nursery. You will be responsible for working closely with the manager to maintain our high standards of care, uphold our values, and provide exceptional leadership to our growing team of educators.
Brief description of responsibilities:
To assist the nursery manager and senior management team.
To have a sound knowledge of all company policies, procedures, statutory welfare requirements and Ofsted expectations and requirements, and to ensure that these are maintained at all times.
To supervise staff and students in training and maintain a proactive and professional team.
To maintain staffing levels, arranging cover when needed.
Support staff development and work closely with other staff and professionals.
Ensure that all children attending the nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development
Contribute to developing positive relationships and close working links with the range of professionals in and out of setting, to promote the well-being of children at all times.
Responsible for opening and closing of the Nursery.
Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day operation in order to ensure the health and safety of the children, their parents, carers, the team and any visitors to the nursery, including the completion of risk assessments.
Have a sound knowledge and understanding of and uphold safeguarding procedures and strategies ensuring that all children are safeguarded and appropriately supervised at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum Level 3 in Childcare is essential.
First Aid Certificate (desirable but training can be given)
Valid DBS on the Update Service (Will be renewed if not)
Excellent standard of written English essential.
Previous experience of working with young children of at least 3 years.
An indepth understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Experience and knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Excellent communication skills
